Reflexology Points for EO application

Reflexology is the application of pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears.  The study of reflexology promotes the belief that these reflex points correspond to different organs and systems within our body.

So, why apply Essential Oils to the bottoms of our feet?

As you will see on the chart I am including below, each organ and body system has a corresponding area on the bottom of our feet that can be used not only in reflexology, but to apply Essential Oils.  The pores on the bottom of our feet are much larger/thicker than anywhere else on the human body, meaning the oils will be better absorbed.   Also, the feet do not have sebaceous glands (glands that secrete oils onto our skin), so they are typically a drier surface which also promotes better absorption.

I can personally attest to the benefits of applying Essential Oils to the reflexology points on the feet.  I have had success doing so with many single oils and blends.  I have avoided the common cold, enhanced my immune system, induced a better night’s sleep, and even treated chronic migraines with Essential Oils and I am a firm believer in using them before medications that come with dangerous side effects.

Note that the area of application is quite small for most organs/systems.  It only takes a drop to a couple of drops to cover the appropriate area adequately.   Do not over apply oils, as that will just cost you more by using more than necessary.
